A post-doctoral position is available in the Grant Translational Blood-brain Barrier Laboratory in the Department of Neurosurgery and Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University. This position will involve basic and translational research in the areas of brain tumor cell biology and mouse models of brain cancer. We are particularly interested in the blood-tumor barrier and augmenting the drug delivery to brain tumors.

The focus of work for this postdoc will be on the neuroimaging of mouse models of human brain cancer using intravital microscopy. The post-doc will receive training and mentoring in the use of mouse models and in vivo systems to study the dynamic changes in the blood-tumor barrier during tumor growth.

All applicants should have a PhD and/or MD as well as peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals. A strong background in cell culture, molecular biology or bioengineering, as well as in vivo models of brain cancer is preferred. This person will be the lead investigator on all in vivo studies and will work in collaboration with multiple scientists in the brain tumor center. Candidates should be enthusiastic about collaborative and interdisciplinary research, productive, and highly motivated to develop as independent scientists.

We have a strong track record for successfully transitioning postdoctoral fellows to independent grant funding and faculty positions. Duke University is in the vibrant research environment of the Research Triangle Park in Durham, North Carolina.

Interested candidates should contact Dr. Gerald Grant (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and provide a CV, letter of research intent and career goals, and three referees (to provide a reference for you).
