Dear Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 26th International Symposium on "Signal Transduction at the Blood-Brain Barriers" which will be held in Szeged, Hungary on September 11th-13th, 2024.

After successful recent meetings held in Krakow (2017), Arad (2018), Würzburg (2019), Bari (2022) and Uppsala (2023), the conference will be organized for the third time in Hungary. Szeged, the sunniest city of the country, is situated at the crossroads of Europe, close to the border with Serbia and Romania, infusing the city with a multicultural character. The HUN-REN Biological Research Centre, the leading life science research institute of Hungary, will host the symposium. This unique setting provides an inspiring backdrop for cooperation, bringing together diverse perspectives and fostering an international exchange of ideas.

We envisage a program that will cover the latest development in all areas of CNS barriers research including molecular mechanisms, cellular interactions, pharmacology and pathology of the neurovascular unit.

It is our aim to provide a forum for translational studies as well and to attract young scientists from academia and industry.

We look forward to welcoming you to BBB 2024 in Szeged, Hungary.

In the name of the organizing committee

Maria Deli and Istvan Krizbai
Chairs, BBB 2024
