Christmas AmsterdamWe want to thank you and all our members for their continued support.

Despite the continuing pandemic in 2021, the activities of the IBBS and its societies’ members continued throughout the year, with newsletters, job alerts, renewed affiliation with our journal Fluids and Barriers of the CNS and sponsoring of conferences such as the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Brain Barriers virtual meeting (Apr 7-9, 2021) and the "Signal Transduction at the Blood-Brain Barriers" virtual symposium (Sept 22-24, 2021).

We at the IBBS have however missed seeing you all in person this past year. We hope for the first signs of a return to normality so we can finally begin to have some face-to-face activities in 2022, like the 'Barriers of the CNS' Gordon Research Seminar and Conference (Jun 11-17, 2022) in New London, New Hampshire and the 24th International Symposium on Signal Transduction at the Blood-Brain Barriers (Sept 21-23, 2022) in Bari, Italy.
More information on these and other upcoming conferences can be found on our website.

Despite these challenging and turbulent times, we want to wish you happy holidays and all the best for the New Year.
Keep up the good work, stay safe and we will look forward to seeing you all healthy and recharged in 2022.

On behalf of the IBBS,

Elga de Vries, Les Drewes and Robert Thorne
