With my research focus on brain fluid homeostasis – more specifically the choroid plexus and the molecular mechanisms underlying CSF secretion – I am keenly interested in all barriers separating the brain from the systemic circulation and the fluid transport across - and in between - them. I highly value, and wish to promote, research in the interface of different ‘established fields’ including translation to the clinic and, accordingly, meetings and conferences merging these topics. My six years as associate editor in Fluids and Barriers of the CNS has given me valuable experience and insight in the different research topics within the greater field of brain barrier physiology.
