Dr. Reina Bendayan is a Professor, Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, and Institute of Medical Sciences, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Her research program is primarily focused on Membrane Transport and Therapeutics with an emphasis on the field of Antiretroviral Drug Transport and Regulation at blood-tissue barriers. She served as Associate Dean Graduate Education, and as Acting Dean of her Faculty. She has recently served on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS). Dr. Bendayan joined the IBBS since its inception and has contributed to the society in a variety of roles, notably as co-Chair of the AAPS-IBBS workshop on Drug Delivery to the Brain, Washington, DC, 2019, and as co-Chair of the first Keystone symposium on a similar topic, Breckenridge, CO, 2023. She continues to serve as a member of the Editorial Board of FBCNS. In her previous role as Associate Dean, she has contributed to the development of departmental policies as well as strategic research, educational and fundraising initiatives. These experiences provide tools to effectively contribute to the IBBS through leadership roles such as chairing major conferences (i.e., CVB) as well as providing organizational strategies for scientific development and the recruitment of new members
