Blood/Brain Barrier Physiology
The “Blood/Brain Barrier Physiology: Neural Boundaries and the
Molecular Mechanisms of CNS Protection” will be held at Cold Spring Harbor, December 1st-4th.
This is a new meeting that will be centered on understanding all aspects of blood-brain
barrier physiology. The unique goal of this meeting will be to bring together
scientists who not only work on the blood-brain barrier itself, but those who work on all
biological properties that may be important to understanding the blood-brain barrier
including angiogenesis, tight junction formation, endocytosis, molecular transport,
cellular polarity as well as those who work on analogous problems in different model
organisms. Obviously disease related basic science insights and new screening methods
(i.e. Genomic profiling) are welcome. Hopefully this model will not only allow
blood-brain barrier researchers to learn about state of the art science in related
fields, but also to demonstrate blood-brain barrier physiology as an important
application to many different cell and molecular biology fields.
